So there you have it: our final entry from NAB 2016. I first spotted Hoodman's drone-related products at the B&H Photo booth – specifically, the folding landing pad. Christian Domecq, whom you met in the video we posted yesterday, could immediately see that I was interested. To his credit, rather than suggesting we include it in the video we were doing with him, he steered me towards Hoodman's booth to learn more.
Even though there was only about one hour left before the show ended, when we got to the Hoodman booth, we decided we could eek out one more segment. I liked everything I saw.
To begin with, I want one of those landing pads, bad. It's an ingenious idea and it solves a real-world problem. Likewise, the sun shades with the pierce-able panels also will make your life a whole lot easier if you're not flying with FPV goggles. The drone belt also looked smart. I didn't actually get to try it on, so I can't attest to its comfort, but it appeared to be well designed and constructed.
Two final factors that weighed heavily in Hoodman's favor, at least as far as I was concerned: their company colors are my all time favorite combination – yellow and black – and their booth is inflatable, like a bouncy house! How cool is that!?
